With the professional guidance of my beautiful Wife, I just prepped my first turkey for tomorrow! Going to let the dry rub — house recipe mind you — soak in overnight then deep-fry tomorrow! Yes I know the dangers, and yes I’ve talked to friends who’ve done these for many years, and yes I’ve seen the YouTube videos, yes and yes ad nauseam ;)
I’m sure you’ll do great and be safe. Take video anyways. You know. Just in-case. ;)
Dad used to make deep fried turkeys! They are incredible! I’m sure you’ll do great!
Did you build an Alton Brown turkey derrick? That’s how I ended up doing mine for several years straight. Never lit the house on fire or burned myself.
This year we’re doing one on the kamado (smoked). Figure it’s time to switch it up.
Hey Matt do you know the dangers of frying a Turkey? Not sure if you have done any research.
You’re smart enough to not fry a frozen turkey, and pat dry a thawed one. And that dry rub helps too… Just do it outside.
Pics or it didn’t happen…
We’ve deep fried a couple of turkeys. If you’re not an idiot, you’ll be fine!!! lol We don’t know how those people on Youtube were so irresponsible and had those fires. It really is a simple process.
